“Criss-cross rhythms that explode with happiness”Deodaat is a DJ and drummer with a deep passion for percussion. From an early age he was behind the drum kit, and rhythm has been the guiding thread in everything he does ever since. In is sets, percussion acts as the unifying force: the glue that ties together different genres seamlessly.

Style & Experience

His style is high-energy and genre-transcending, with strong influences from South African, Latin American, and Brazilian music, always carried by a soulful core. He deliberately seeks out the edges of the dance floor and his record collection, sharing undiscovered records that bring people together through their rhythmic power. For Deodaat, connection is central: music and dance as universal languages that unite. With performances this past season at LIEF Festival, Paradiso, and EKKO, he is preparing for an explosive autumn with his own residency at TivoliVredenburg, a club night at Cult=us in Rotterdam, and stage hosting for Damn Honey at Der Hintergarten.

Plaatjes & Maatjes

Alongside his own DJ career, Deodaat is co-founder of Plaatjes&Maatjes, a concept born in a living room during the pandemic. What started among friends has grown into a collectivethat will host its second event this year at Kabul A Go Go. Together with five friends, he creates accessible club experiences that feel as intimate and welcoming as dancing in your own living room.

Deodaat’s Diary

His recent project Deodaat’s Diary on YouTube was born during a journey through France, Spain, and Portugal, where he explored local music histories, collected records in theircontext, and connected with passionate music lovers and artists. In these musical diaries, he tells the story of the 1970s disco revolution and its influence on contemporary music.
